Volunteer Opportunities with the National Association of REALTORS
The National Association of REALTORS has released a call for recommendations of members interested in serving as volunteers on national level committees in 2010.

Using the committee recommendation database,  you can recommend yourself or other suitable candidate for up to three committees. Each committee is different in that some are large, others small.  Some meet at the midyear and Annual Meetings, while others meet off-cycle.  Others require specific background to be considered for appointment.  To determine which committee is right for you, review the committee's purpose, length of term, and more as detailed in the 2009 Committee Composition & Structure link.

Follow these steps to access the Committee Recommendation Database*:
1. Log-on to REALTOR.org
2. In the left-hand blue side bar click on "NAR Governance"
3. Beneath that, select "Committees"
4. In the center screen choose "Committee Recommendations for 2010– Reference Page"
5. Select "I. Submit a Committee Recommendation"

When submitting a recommendation, you will be required to include relevant comments that highlight the candidate's skills and qualifications for consideration.

New Requirement for Clay Township in Hamilton County
A member has passed along the following information on a new Clay Township Regional Waste District requirement that affects commercial property as well as residential.  Any property sold in the service district must have an inspection by the waste district to make sure the property is not discharging storm water into the sanitary system.  They envision the inspection to be post closing, but as this may cause a problem to be identified, a pre-closing inspection may be suggested.

MIBOR was unsuccessful at getting this requirement killed entirely, but they did get the proposed inspection fee changed from the first inspection (which was when the waste district wanted to charge it) to any reinspection needed to insure problems identified in the first inspection are properly cured.

ICBR Members Benefit from "Right Tools - Right Now"
